Feminine Rage: The Musical

a little snapshot of my very normal and very sane diary entry of the day forever etched into my memory

Okay so I've been beating around the bush for quite a while about what I would consider the best day of my life. Before I jump into this, allow me to just say that one of the best days of my life was July 17th, the day my father forced me to watch Hamilton and I was forever entrenched in the beautiful world of musical theatre. However, there is another day, a day upon which I already knew would go down in the history books, a day that I had spent months preparing for, and would spend years missing. The Eras Tour.

If you've been living under a rock somehow, The Eras Tour is a tour done by our lord and savior, Time Person of the year 2023, Queen of pop music, Taylor Swift. Due to her releasing numerous albums during the Plague of 2020, she decided she no longer wanted to do individual tours for each albums, instead crafting the Eras Tour, a three hour show dedicated to each era (except the first era apparently cause screw Debut I guess). All 11 albums (Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, The Tortured Poets Department) get time on stage, except my self-titled. Every night her outfits switch up, and so does a part of the setlist. In between her TTPD and Midnights setlist, she performed 3-4 surprise songs, often mashing up songs. Nobody asked, but at my show, which was Wembley Night 2 (Jun 22nd 2024 <3) we had thanK you aIMee mashed up with Mean, after which she bought out Hayley Williams for castles crumbling. Hayley also appeared in the beginning WHEN PARMORE OPENED??? (I am not over all the butterflies).

My god, this show was incredible, the atmosphere was electric, my ears rang from the applause, and I screeched my throat raw. What stuck out to me was just how nice everyone was. Even entering the tube station, I realized just how many swifties there were, and everyone was nice, complimenting my dress and trading bracelets. When I was on the tube and someone handed me a bracelet and guessed that my favorite era was Lover (she was right btw) I knew I had finally found my people.

This tour is one of the best days of my life, not only because it allowed me to see an artist that I had admired for 8 years live, but also because of the rush of being surrounded by other fangirls and feeling like I belonged. I think everyone should have the experience of feeling like they fit perfectly in with over 80000 people all gathered in a single stadium, whether its a sport match, a concert, a convention, or anything that brings you joy.
